Overview
Gaiavio is a fictional eco-conscious brand aiming to revolutionize laundry care by eliminating plastic waste. The concept centers around concentrated detergent housed in reusable glass vials, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional plastic packaging.
The Challenge
In the U.S., over 700 million plastic laundry detergent jugs are discarded annually. Even powdered detergents often come in plastic-lined boxes. The challenge was to design a product and brand that not only reduces plastic waste but also appeals to environmentally conscious consumers seeking convenience and effectiveness.
The Solution
I created a full brand and packaging system for Gaiavio—an innovative laundry product that comes in pre-measured, concentrated drops housed in reusable glass vials. Customers simply dilute a drop in water at home using a sleek, refillable dispenser. This cuts out bulky jugs, unnecessary plastic, and excess shipping weight. Visually, the brand blends clarity with purpose: a clean, modern logo that combines a bubble and a leaf to nod to both efficacy and eco-consciousness; a color palette of forest green, bright yellow, and soft blue to evoke sustainability, energy, and calm; and typography that’s both elegant and accessible. Every design decision supports the product’s mission—less waste, more intention.
The Result
The final concept presents a cohesive brand identity that aligns with Gaiavio's mission. The design effectively communicates the product's eco-friendly benefits and positions Gaiavio as a viable alternative in the laundry detergent market.
