Overview
Westward is a conceptual art exhibition with an accompanying catalog that invites a fresh look at the American West. Through curated photography and essays, it questions romantic myths and opens space for new conversations about culture, politics, and economics.
The Challenge
Produce a 140-page catalog that elevates exhibition documentation into a thoughtful, multilayered experience. It showcases the artwork and encourages readers to reexamine ideas about the American West.
The Solution
I organized a curated selection of works and essays into four thematic chapters for clarity and flow. Each chapter pairs large, high-quality images with tight, insightful text. A layered mix of paper stocks and textures turns the book into a physical counterpart to the exhibition.
The Result
The catalog functions as an independent read while also enhancing the show. It gives readers a nuanced perspective on the American West and invites them to sit with it a little longer.
